PHOTOVOLTAIC

ENERGY

What is photovoltaic energy and how does it work?

Photovoltaic solar energy converts sunlight into electricity directly, using technology based on the photovoltaic effect. When the sun’s radiation hits one of the surfaces of a photovoltaic cell of the solar panel, it creates a difference in the power voltage between both surfaces that makes electrons flow from one to another, generating electric current.

Electricity generated by photovoltaic solar panels is everlasting and does not pollute; in consequence, it contributes to sustainable development and favors local employment.

EFESA commits to participate in this transformation and to actively collaborate with the country’s sustainable development and progress.

We have an everlasting and generous resource within reach: in Argentina, the sun is the fuel to significantly change and improve a little diversified and hydrocarbon-dependent energy mix. Taking advantage of this resource is a necessary decision.
